There is a lot of debate on whether or not the Peloton bike can be used offline. Some people say that it can, while others claim that it cannot. So which is it? Can you use the Peloton bike offline or not?
You can use the Peloton bike offline as long as you want. However, you won’t be able to access features other than just watching classes. This makes the bike suitable for working out in a remote place with no internet connection at all.
However, that’s not all and there’s definitely a lot more to learn when it comes to knowing whether or not you can use the Peloton bike offline. So, let’s get started with our article and learn everything there is to know about this topic!
Can You Use The Peloton Bike Offline?
The short answer to the question above is yes, you can. However, if you want to use it offline it will be limited in a way that you won’t have access to all of the features.
You will be able to use it in a similar way as when you watch classes with an internet connection, but there are some differences. Other than just using it offline in a way you usually do while having a stable internet connection, you can also work out in a place without being connected to the internet.
This makes it suitable for working out in remote areas or on an airplane (for example), where you won’t be able to get an internet connection at all.
What Can You Do While Using The Peloton Bike Offline?
If you go online while using the Peloton bike, you will have access to features like leaderboard rankings and results, live ride data, and more. However, when using it offline you won’t be able to do the following:
- Have access to leaderboard rankings and results
- See live ride data
You will only be able to see your own stats, compete with yourself in a challenge or watch classes. This makes the bike useful for working out in a place without an internet connection.
You will be able to keep track of your own progress, competitions, and more while there won’t be any need for working with other features that cannot be used offline.
How To Use The Peloton Bike Offline?
As the Peloton bike doesn’t have an offline mode or anything like that, there is no way of using it offline. The only way to do this is by connecting your device with an internet connection somewhere else and watching classes while you are not connected to the internet.
You can connect your iPhone or Android smartphone with an internet connection in a remote place and watch live Peloton classes on it. This is the only way to use the Peloton bike offline and it works in a similar way as you would usually do online.
However, this doesn’t apply to all devices and there are some limitations when it comes to using the Peloton bike offline. For instance, if you connect your TV with an internet connection somewhere else you won’t be able to stream live classes on it.
This may have something to do with the streaming software that is being used and doesn’t support offline watching of Peloton classes.
Can Peloton Workouts Be Downloaded?
In case you want to watch a class offline after downloading it, you won’t be able to do that either. Peloton classes cannot be downloaded and there’s no way for this to happen in the future.
However, you can download your own workout videos from the Peloton bike through the My Workouts section in the app/website. Of course, this only applies to workouts you’ve done and not classes.
Can You Store Youtube Videos Offline on a Peloton Bike?
The answer is yes! I was able to store over 8 hours of content on my Peloton Bike with no internet connection. It’s so nice not having to worry about having a good enough connection to stream the ride you want.
You can upload and download as many rides as you like and they will show up in your app under your profile. Simply select the ride you want to watch and press play.
To Store Videos Offline on Your Peloton Bike:
Log into your account via the Peloton Bikes website. Go to “My Classes” section in your account. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of any class that is available for download.
Select the option to “Download Class” and then press download on any of the videos you would like to store offline.
Peloton Bike Offline Mode: The Bottom Line
So, as you can see there are some limits when it comes to using the Peloton bike offline. You won’t be able to access features like live ride data or leaderboard rankings, but you will be able to use it in a similar way as when you have an internet connection with the only difference being that you won’t have access to all of the features.
The Peloton bike is useful for working out without an internet connection, but keep in mind that there are some limitations. You can only use it with your smartphone or tablet when you are somewhere with an internet connection. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use it at all.
